I’m not quite sure when we discovered this combo, but in the last few years this Vegan Chocolate Cherry Smoothie Bowl Recipe has become our go-to quick, gluten free, vegan breakfast.
It fills that void you get sometimes when eating vegan. Or maybe it’s just me. I want something hearty that will fill me up. You know, more than a smoothie…I want to chew something!
Plus, it is nutrient rich, lots of protein, etc. I once added up all the protein, fiber, and other nutrition label information and was blown away by what is all in this bowl!
Anyway, that’s why we make this Vegan Smoothie Bowl. Our kids love it too, so that’s a huge bonus!
Vegan Chocolate Cherry Smoothie Bowls
¾ Cup Frozen Cherries (I get ours from Costco)
1 Serving Chocolate Protein Powder (We use this one)
½ cup Coconut Milk (canned) – this will make it thick (Alternative – Use water if you want it runny, Almond milk if you want somewhere in between)
3 Tablespoons of Hemp Hearts
¼ Cup of Pecans
¼ Cup Coconut Flakes (unsweetened)
1 Tablespoon No-sugar Chocolate Chips
Place the frozen cherries in a bowl. Blend coconut milk with protein powder and pour mixture over frozen cherries. Do not stir! Put hemp hearts, pecans, and coconut flakes in small piles on top. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Serve!
This one is so simple, quick and yummy!
